With its beautiful lake and very historic city Annecy is one of our most popular trips. It has wonderful shopping, great restaurants and fantastic areas to sit and watch the world going by. Annecy also offers some exceptional restaurants and bistros where you can enjoy lunch or just a leisurely glass of wine.
The highest rack railway train in France awaits you for a marvellous trip to the foot of Mont-Blanc. This wonderful trip starts in La Fayet in the foothills of Mont Blanc and takes you to the bottom of a Glacier. With amazing views and a truly historic experience this is one not to miss.
The town of Yvoire dates back over 700 years where it was a modest fishing village on the banks of lake Geneva. It is now a member of the Association of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” with a thriving tourist industry. With no cars allowed in the town centre the air is fresh and peaceful.
Sallanches is a lovely Alpine town situated in the Arve valley. Every Saturday the centre of the town is turned into a bustling market with wonderful local produce as far as the eye can see. Sallanches also hosts a couple of good sized haberdashery shops which we will also visit if requested.
Aosta is an old Roman town at 583m above sea level, and the largest in the region with a population of 35,000. Full of things to see and do, it’s surrounded by magnificent mountains. The trip to Aosta is about 1 1/2 hours and passes through the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
Overlooked by the 4810 metres of the Mont Blanc, the Chamonix Valley is one of the most visited natural sites in the world. Step into the legend and discover the birthplace of mountaineering and a paradise for hikers, the destination of a lifetime.
Samoëns is a wonderful mountain village in the Grand Massif, the same area as Les Carroz. Samoans is home to the only botanic garden of its kind in the Alps, containing no less than 5,000 varieties of mountain flowers. It hosts a lovely market every Wednesday morning.
